Théo Schmitt

is a composer and conductor from Swizterland based in Los Angeles. He studied orchestra conducting at the Conservarory of Lausanne where he was awarded the prestigious Fritz Bach's prize for the best master thesis. He moved to the US in 2019 and studied composition at UCLA and screen scoring at USC. Théo has already written several original compositions:
In 2022, the Micro-Harmonie commissioned him a Passion of Christ for concert band, soloists and female choir. During the whole summer of the same year, The Fine Arts Museum of Lausanne featured his piece Voyages Imaginaires for trumpet solo and unsynchronized tapes for its opening exhibition. His other concert works include commissions by the Music Society of the State of Vaud (SCMV), the Swiss Music Association (ASM) and the World Association for Symphonic Band and Ensemble (WASBE).
In 2021, he was nominated at the Marvin Hamlisch International Music Awards. In 2023, he was nominated at the Jerry Goldsmith Awards and at the International Digital Music Festival of Shanghai. In 2024, the Stadtmusik Luzern is going to premiere his work La Danse des Titans Masqués at the Carnegie Hall in New York. Théo is also frequently hired as a guest conductor and studio conductor in recording sessions.
