Founded in 2024 by seven young composers based in Los Angeles, The Unprecedented Music Association (UMA) is a collective of composers and musicians dedicated to promoting new orchestral and other large-ensemble music by bringing joy, beauty, and fresh concert experiences to the audiences of Southern California.

UMA and its flagship ensemble, the Unprecedented Music Orchestra (UMO), are dedicated entirely to performances of new orchestral works in in order to offer greater visibility to a new generation of composers with diverse backgrounds, to contribute eclectic music to the orchestral repertoire, and to expand the umbrella of the Los Angeles music community.
